Driving Lessons for Novices

Just starting out on your driving career and you prefer the ease and comfort of an automatic car, John is able to help. You will be guided through the various elements of driving using an objective - based process that allows you to learn at your own pace. At the conclusion of each lesson your progress will be discussed and recorded. This will prepare you for subsequent lessons or for any private practice that you are able to undertake.

The D.S.A. require you to sit and pass a theory test prior to taking your practical driving test. John will help you during the course of your lessons by providing information relating to all aspects of driving.You will therefore gain both knowledge and confidence whilst driving to enable you to successfully complete the question and hazard perception parts of the Official Theory Test.

In addtion John will carry out Mock Driving Test (s). to assess your competence and therefore readiness to book your practical driving test. Whether able-bodied or requiring adaptions, your learning experience starts here.

Following rehabilitation from a stroke, loss of a limb or other partial immobility you as an experienced driver may well be looking to re-establish your independence through driving. It doesn’t matter if you’ve driven a manual or automatic car previously.

Following an assessment, a specific plan can be agreed to enable you to re-gain your mobility and flexibility through driving your own vehicle.

Refresher Courses

You may be an experienced driver but require some advice and support to upgrade your driving skills to meet todays changing road and traffic conditions. The time you wish to spend and the pace at which you want to proceed will be discussed and tailored to meet your needs.

Confidence Builders

Motorways and dual carriageways are often things that many full driving licence holders, young and old, are not happy about. It may be a lack of guidance, confusion over the differences or simply a lack of opportunity and practise that leaves you less than confident.

It is in these areas that John can help you overcome your reluctance and nervousness to tackle these challenges.

Vehicle Familiarisation

Just changed from a manual to an automatic or thinking about doing so? Need help, no problem. Maybe you’re about to change your automatic car and need some help and support.

Once again John can offer you unbiased advice and a realistic plan to get you mobile.

Pass Plus Courses

These D.S.A. designed courses can be undertaken by any driver holding a full U.K. driving licence. However for newly qualified automatic licence holders there are savings to be made on car insurance premiums following successful completion of the short course.

The scheme involves 6 separate sections which provide you with both additional and new practical driving experience, In busy / heavy (town) traffic; On country roads; In all weather conditions; At night; On dual carriage ways and On motorways.
The sections covering heavy traffic, motorways and night driving particularly, will mean those journeys to friends and family in far flung places, can now be planned with confidence and enthuiasm. John is a registered assessor for the DSA Pass Plus Scheme.
